A short vampire story...con't Chapter 2

She was weak and sore. Her whole body felt like a dizzy puddle. Forcing her eyes open, she realized she had absolutely no idea where she was. Panic flew threw her like an arrow, but something in her mind seemed to be quite calm, almost sedated like. Had she been drugged? She’d never felt so immobilized in her entire life. Even her eyelids felt heavy. God, her heart ached as if it had been working hard as hell to pump blood. She groaned, as she painfully rolled over on the bed she was laying on.

Thorns Thorns

They home themselves into our hearts,
The plant their vicious seed.
They bloom into a mess of thorns,
That rips our flesh with greed.

We cannot pull away or run,
The pain would kill us quicker.
The tears that bellow in our eyes,
To them as great as liquor.

They use our bodies, rape our minds,
They push us to the floor.
We mean little more than pleasure,
To them we’re just a whore.

Although no chains hold us down,
The thorns do clench our heart,
The perfect organ to hold us back,
Which keeps us in the dark.

Perhaps on day someone will see,
The pain that lies inside.
Only then can we be freed,

I lay awake at night
Staring into an empty space
Where the satin sheets are damp and dented
Still smelling of your cologne.

I lay in utter loneliness
Desperately awaiting your return
Gazing hopefully out the window
Knowing it’s a lost cause.

I lay in horrid patience
Knowing this routine too often
Praying that this time I’m wrong
Still nakedly embracing your shattered promises.

I lay with a sinking understanding
That as my body filled your brutal desires
I never tapped into your heart
Yet pitifully, you leave me wanting your love.

I lay in the growing dark

My skin loosens on my body
